Spend your money elsewhere. It feels flimsy, like it's about to fall apart. This was definitely not worth what I paid for it. It failed to work upon receiving. It sounds like something is loose inside and rattles around.
Saves the extra pen drive.-Nikhil It worked well for the time it did, but a slight push when it was connected and the internal connections fell apart. I bought this Reader cum Pen Drive because I have some SD cards for my camera which are kept unused for most of the time. So I thought, instead of buying a pen drive, this would make more sense. Ideally most USB devices have that much of resistance, but this one disappointed. But if you are careful enough, its a good device to own.
All in all it is a device that is worth the cost only if you are getting free shipping. The USB plug will not fit into all USB ports because of the adapter's wide body, but this is to be expected. It claims to be a 23-in-1 card reader, but it really is a SD card reader as almost all of the other card formats are obsolete. It has decent read/write speeds that are totally dependent on the type of media that you have in it. One big drawback is that it does not support the new SDHC format, but it never claimed to.
No problems yet reads my SD card perfectly. I bought this product some months ago and i must admit it does live up to expectations. Works just fine.
The desktop recognizes the reader but says there is no media. So the card is fine, but the reader is DOA. I purchased this item along with a 2GB SD card to use with my desktop computer. I took the SD card out and put it into my laptop's built in reader and it immediately found the card and showed 2GB of free space.
